OH IT WAS A COOL ANIMATION ABOUT THE SAME guy. local adorably round-headed scientist dr. dinkus (aka sophie “sophia” tintori) made this super animation about the elusive fried-egg jelly to help teach clowns like us how to KNOW THINGS. it is a SICK, totally adorable and informative animation complete with the music styling of another local guy, not a scientist (but also round-headed), terrifying pop behemoth amil byleckie. thanks guys for making this thing that i enjoyed! sorry this post was so “wordy”.

since i today and like for many days before today i haven’t been able to get done what needs to get done, i decided (as any reasonable person would) to procrastinate by making masks. and giving them names (which is the best part)!

the all-rhode island comix show to be had wicked soon this summer at the hera gallery in wakefield, ri????!!!!!!!!!??? me and mike taylor made 2 collaborative promotional drawings for the show (see above & after break).
ANYWAY you can find out more and where to submit your works at the hera gallery website (probably), and um theres also a 24 hr challenge which is going to be totally brutal!!!

well! more like DIRTY/CHEAP PRINT-BRUNCH, this is the poster for it. it’s the same day as the nite-time dance party/make out sesh, but in the MORNING (11am-3pm), where breakfast is free (vegan lentil, pancake, bagels, coffee) and the prints are cheap (and for sale). there’s also a raffle, and i hope it’s not a disaster. SO, plz come! SATURDAY may 3rd, 11am-5pm @ NARWHAL ARMS (mathewson & washington).

these are kind of old (“old” being used loosely), i did them like a month or so ago? maybe 2 months. anyway i kept leaving them at the p-shop! so i couldn’t scan. people seem to like the tiger one but i hate it. so i’m going to make a super brutal tiger print sometime in the future (purely out of spite).

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY (of course), i am vaguely alluded to in both articles (albeit somewhat inaccurately).
from the brown daily herald:

i especially like the brown daily herald’s article, as islay is billed as “cynical” and “sardonic”, which is entirely accurate. oohhh p.s. don’t forget to friend the girls on myspace.

nice slice (pizza box)

hello! i was asked to make this pizza box for pvd is burning, which is to say i designed the image and printed it (and did not make the box). that is, jackson and kat and i printed it. for nice slice. because nice slice lets people silkscreen their pizza boxes sometimes which is totally amazing. anyway this is my crappy photo of the box (pizza box does not scan well):

we actually printed a bunch that was pink fade to purple/blue, like pastels, like easter colors. but i didn’t take a photo of it.
well anyway if you get take out at nice slice (267 Thayer Street, providence ri) in the next week or so, maybe you will get a kewl box i printed!!
